Janet Lynch spent her early childhood in India and although she left in 1945 at the age of seven, the colours and scent remained indelible. Boarding school in England followed visiting her parents in Kenya every summer. Although she was accepted at St. Martin’s School of Art aged 16, she married two years later and spent the following years raising her family. She returned to art school in 1980 completing her degree in fine art at Hornsey College of Art in 1984. Since graduating she has worked full time as a painter and printmaker with solo exhibitions at White Space Gallery, London, Janos Avivson Gallery, London and The Contact Gallery, Norwich to name but a few. She lives in Penwith, Cornwall with her husband, the artist Ian Brown.
